Summer

Christopher, Gus, and I have been enjoying a nice relaxing summer. Chris golfs, Gus sleeps, and I had volleyball. Last week we headed up to Michigan to see my family and our good friend Mike. We spend some time with our beautiful niece Emma. She is 4 months old, and I am completely in awe. I am amazing by how fast she is growing and changing. Christopher, Mike, and I spend some time at the cottage. While there, we taught Gus to swim. It began with Chris setting Gus in the water. Gus froze. He didn't move for five minutes! But eventually he slowly began to explore the lake. By the third day, he was romping and jumping all over the place. He loves to splash and trys to eat the water. Gus also swims to either Chris or me and grabs hold of our leg so that he can stand in deep water. Silly puppy.
Gus is now 11 months old and weighing in at about 85 lbs! He just keeps growing. He is becoming a very handsome and sometimes he behaves. While on our walks, Gus receives many complements on his behavior and his appearance. Just today, a man in a truck rolled down his window and said Gus was such a good dog.
Tomorrow morning we leave for Kentucky Lake, our end of the summer vacation. Pretty soon (less than a month) school begins.

February and March

February 14, I took a nice little drive up to Michigan for my sisters baby shower. She is due March 14 (less than a week). She has had a great pregnancy, so i'm praying for a good delivery to a healthy little boy or girl. I'm so excited to be an aunt.
Chris and I took Gus in for his 6 month vet checkup. He is weighing in at 52 lbs! And he still thinks he is a lap dog. Silly puppy. We purchases a nice, large fluffy bed for him. He really like to play and chew on his bed. Not so much sleep.
I am almost done with all my masters! I have handed in all but one final project. That project is due this week. Now all we have to do is wait for our May 18th graduation!

Gus Puppy.

Our little puppy Gus has grown so much recently. He is now 20 weeks old and weighs 33 lbs. He has grown very tall and skinny. Gus has learned a new trick. He began ringing a bell to go outside! We did NOT teach him, rather he just kinda picked it up. We have such a smart puppy. He has also started to lose his sharp little puppy teeth. Last weekend he lost three. We are very excited for his not as sharp adult teeth to come in. I have also started to take him on longer walks and discovered that this puppy loves to jog!! I'm really looking forward to the summer when we can go on morning jogs together.

Honduras

Steve, Gayle, Christopher and I just returned from Honduras. It was an amazing trip. We began by landing in San Pedro Sula. At the airport, we were joined by Erika (my sister in law). We rented a van and drove to the little beach town of Tela. It was by far the scariest drive I have ever ridden. The roads are horrible, and there are NO rules for driving. The Hondurans will pass on switchbacks while a semi is coming. The views were beautiful.
We spend two days in Tela soaking up the sun, snorkeling, and hiking in the rainforest. We even saw wild monkeys.
We then proceeded to Comayaqua where the Soto Cano Airforce Base is located. We hung out on Christmas day at Erika's hooch (house).
We then drove to Copan Ruinas. This town is truly amazing. The Copan Mayan Ruins are located a mile outside of town. We spent three hours walking around the 1 square kilometer of ruins and still did not see everything. It was amazing. We also went on a canopy tour. The tour consisted of 14 zip cords. Two cords were 1 kilometer long! It was amazing.
This was a trip of a lifetime. Enjoy the pictures.

Update on Gus

Our little Gus is growing up really fast. He is now 11 weeks old and weights 20 lbs. He is already potty trained!! He also knows how to sit on command. We are really proud parents! He continues to chew everything. He really likes hands and pants. Today we took him to his very first grooming. We got an excellent report on his behavior. Everyone just loves Gus. He are some more recent picks of our not so little guy.
